Exciting Times.

Right now I am so excited.  Saturday Night I went to the Phillies game it was so exciting to be in that  “Playoff atmosphere”.  I cant imagine what it was like yesterday as the Phillies won the National League East.  Jimmy Rollins desires to win the MVP.  This guy did everything that he could to get his team into the playoffs.  His numbers are impressive but his heart cant be matched.   GO PHILLIES.  Keep on Phighting.

PACKERS are 4-0.  Brett Farve set the all time touch down record and the PACKERS are winning despite not having a running game.  Not sure how long they can keep winning only relying on the arm of Brett and the defense but I finally have something to cheer about other than Aaron Kampman.  

Last night at Prayer and Praise we had an exciting time as I shared a little about prayer, and then we spent the rest of the time worshiping through prayer and praise.  At one point we gathered around in a circle and I told the students that we were going to pray for students that just needed to be strengthened and encouraged.  I told them if they wanted to be prayed for they simply had to step into the middle of the circle.  It was neat to see different students one after the other step in and ask for prayer.  It was awsome then to hear and see other students pray for that student.  Our time of prayer was awsome. 

We played some more songs and I said that students could be dimissed.  I left the music on and prayer request on the screen and the students decided that they were just going to keep worshipping.  I couldnt believe it.  The song stopped right in the middle and they just kept on singing.  You want to talk about excitement.  PHILLIES in the Playoffs and Packers 4-0 doesnt even compare to the excitement of Students WORSHIPPING GOD!

The Mets are hurting.

Well my Phillies are trying to get the Mets to wave the white flag (SURRENDER your going down).   Tonight I am headed to the game.  Go PHILLIES.  Nicole- the caring wife that she is, got us tickets at the begining of the week.  If the Phillies win and the Mets lose the Phillies are going to the playoffs!!!  Everybody on the Phillies is playing their hearts out.  They are willing to do whatever it takes to get the HURTING METS to SURRENDER.   Hopefully tonight will be the NIGHT that the METS hear that the HURT AND PAIN of LOSING IS COMING TO an end. 

MY hope and prayer for you is that you too will wave the SURRENDER FLAG.  Stop trying to fight the hurt and pain all on your own.  Jesus wants to come and comfort you.  OUR MINISTRY wants to come and comfort you.  WE are gonna keep fighting for you until you SURRENDER your life to GOD and HIS WILL for you.  WE are a rescue house and we are on our way!!!

Sports Talk- What makes a man?

I love talking about sports with other people.  Get around a bunch of guys and one of the first things that always comes up is their favorite sports team.  Yesterday all of the pastors from our church went out for a little fun.  We played mini-golf and then went out to eat.  Doug beat me by nine strokes (He had a lot of lucky shots).   Guess what came up while a bunch of Pastors sat around and had a good time. Thats right, we had a nice long sports talk.  

At this point I want to take the time to mention the Phillies are 1.5 games out of the wild card and only 2.5 games away from winning the division.  The Packers have 2 wins and no losses.   Brett Farve looks like his old self as he is helping to lead the Pack to victory.  Aaron Kampman and the defense are putting a lot of pressure on the other teams Quaterbacks.  Oh and let me mention Michigan is not 0-3.  All you Penn State fans be ready for a good game.  I dont think we have enough to beat you but we will give you a good game.  

So here are some question/statements for you to think about. 
Does that fact that I like talking about sports make me a man? 
Does the fact that I ride a motorcyle make me a man?
If you dont like sports talk your just some loser who should’nt call himself a man!
If you like band more than sports you must be gay!
If your a man you dont cry!
The girl in your life determines the how much of a man you really are!

Are these statements or questions correct?  Are they correct culturally or Biblically? 

Tell me what makes a man?   What makes him think and act the way that He does?  What makes a man love?  What is the purpose of a mans life?
