Pray for Missions

One of the ways we can be involved in Global missions is to pray. Today I wanted to update you with a couple of Missionaries/Missions work that you can pray for.

The Sugden Family and a team from Chambersburg is preparing to leave for Haiti in a couple of days. They just learned that the airline that was scheduled to fly them in to Haiti went bankrupt and their flight has been canceled. Pray and trust that God works all things together for good.
Our friends the Lynskeys are home from the missions field due to the birth of their twins. They had to leave the mission field unexpectedly as Sukey started going into labor. The twins were born recently and are expected to be in the hospital another 6 weeks. Pray for there team that is serving without them. Pray for the different way missions will be done now having twins.
Pray for a missions family as they grieve the unexpected loss of their two year old son.

I often think of this song when ministry gets messy and the war gets brutal.

Been loving this text lately. I have been trying to make this apart of my prayer life. As a result I have had some great days watching God use me to help others understand the truth of God’s Word.
1 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all men 1 Timothy 2

I have been enjoying listening to Jeff Vanderstelt. I first heard him speak on a podcast from Cornerstone Church Semi. Recently found him sharing on the Acts29 website. Good stuff. His churches website SOMA says this about him:

Jeff is a leader of leaders and a coach and trainer for church planters. His background includes music, business management, working with youth, training youth workers in North America and Europe and starting new churches. Jeff moved to Tacoma from Chicago with his wife Jayne to begin planting Soma.

Jeff leads a Missional Community and the Downtown Expression, and he serves all of Soma in the areas of vision and teaching.

Opportunity to Flow this summer

A good friend of mine Ben Myers runs Arrowhead Bible Camp and he has some exciting ministry opportunities available this summer. Let me encourage you to pray about these.

#1 – Staff
- Assistant Cook (18 yrs. or older)
- Counselors (18 yrs. or older)
- Co-counselors / Co-program staff (16-17 yrs. old)
- Music Leader (play music and lead singing for our programs)
- Lifeguards (this role can be combined with other roles at camp)

#2 – James Project
- We have a few weeks still available for James Project groups. Check out the attached brochure and the website -www.abcjamesproject.org
- Week 2 is available (June 19th – 25th) – during our Shepherds Camp program
- Week 5 is available (July 11th – 16th) – during our Day Camp program
- Week 9 is available (August 7th – 14th) – during a guest group week
