Camping with God

What did you just say Jeremy?  You went camping with God?   Actually I went camping with a couple of students from Sunday Night to Tuesday Morning and I believe that God was at work and present with us.   Let me tell you some pretty cool God stories.

  1. Monday morning during our time of devotions, prayer and sharing God spoke to the students hearts and they shared openly about what God was doing in their lives.  It was awesome to hear them be real before their peers.  It was awesome to see them pray for each other.
  2. We went hiking Monday afternoon and ran into a guy, from Reading PA, that was in the mood to chat, and we had a chance to pray for him and his wife.
  3. Monday Night we had new neighbors who were having trouble finding dry wood for their campfire.  We had extra wood that I was able to give to them.  This simple act ended up being and hour long conversation where I got to talk about the Bible and the need to know Jesus.  I was then able to pray with them.
  4. While I was talking with our new neighbors 4 guys were praying for me and my conversation!
  5. While talking to our camping neighbors 4 guys talked about the student ministry and subjects like: student leadership, students wanting to attempt big things and their willingness to fail, the church becoming one, and the Student Ministry being to dependent upon ME. I have waited 2.5 years to hear some of the things that were brought up.

I believe that God was with us the past two days as we went camping and it was awesome.  God you are good and I am so thankful for the way you worked as we simply got together and camped.  God, as we do normal tasks throughout the week, may we recognize your presence in every day activities.

  1. You forgot to mention that cute little fawn that ran right by us!!

It’s neat to see students catching your vision and wanting to do things for God.

  2. Nicole, you and that fawn….

It was great to be able to share what I was going through on Monday morning. It brought us all closer, and it took off some of my stress to be able to share it.

  3. Check out http://www.ronsworld.wordpress.com to see some ODSM youths helping someone in their community! Way to go guys!
