The Power Of God

Yesterday I spent most of the day at VerticleFest and they had the tour ShoutFest.    It was a great day, the weather could not have been better.  My favorite moment of the day was hearing the Testiomony of  Joseph Rojas the “frontman and songwriter for Seventh Day Slumber”.   As he gave his testimony of how God has changed his life, God moved in the hearts of all those present.  We saw students, and adults running to the stage to humble themselves and fall on their faces before God.   There were not to many dry eyes at this point.

After the alter call it was so neat to see how many people were willing to voluntarily come and talk with these 75+ people who had made decisions for God.  Some of these decisions were trusting Christ for the first time, re-dedicating their lives to Christ, and people who just need life change.  About 15 of these people have had thoughts of Suicide.  Joseph then met with these people again and told them that God loves them as they are.  He prayed with them and then allowed the volunteers to meet and pray with these people.  What an exciting time.

As a youth pastor not only did it excite me to see 75+ people make decisions for God but it brought tears to my eyses to see people willing to minister to the hurting.   From ODSM we had 5 leaders,  7 students, and 1 5th grader, making themselves available to minister to these 75 people.  Thats exciting!! Our students and leaders allowed God’s love to FLOW through them.

Thanks to all of you who helped to minister to these 75+ people.  Thank you to Joseph Rojas and RevGen for making this ministry time so special.  The ministry to these 75 + is not finished.  I need some volunteers to help follow-up and make sure these 75+ get plugged into a local Church.

What were your thoughts on VerticleFest, Joseph Rojas, the Decions that were made?  Anyone willing to help with follow-up?

  2. My thoughts on VerticalFest -an amazing experience! I was so busy earlier in the day and was thinking how much work I could get done if I stayed home. I’m so glad I didn’t. I would have missed out on an incredible blessing. God was definately among us. He worked through the bands and through Joseph Rojas to touch so many lives, including mine. My heart was touched and broken by the sight of so many teens and adults that ran to the altar as they cried out to God. It just reaffirms that God loves us no matter what we have done or where we are at.

  3. I love it how God has everything planned out!!!!! I wasn’t going to go to Vertical Fest because it seemed like I had a million other things to do this weekend but, for some reason I got them all done Saturday night!! So after church my mom and I went over to Vertical Fest!! Then as we were their for a while Jeremy B. came over and told us we needed to go to this training seminar for the altar call because we were going to be counselors. So me and my attitude through a fit because I was thinking why in the world would I want to counsel teens when I could be listening to music. Now I am so glad that I was wrong. Joseph Rojas had one of the most touching testimonies ever. I had cold chills and tears in my eyes the entire time he poured his heart out. The altar call was like none I’ve ever seen. People of all ages came sprinting up to finally get right with the one who has given them everything they have ever needed. They were crying so hard they probably couldn’t breathe. And in the crowd I saw people from my school right then and there I should of got on my knees and praised God. We all got to go pray with someone that came forward. God had it all planned out for me I got to pray with a girl from my school and a girl I had seen a lot through out the day(I didn’t know her). And as I prayed for these girls the words just came pouring out of my mouth. I had no I dea what to say before, God was there for me and I thank him. After that Carrisa and I had an awesome prayer time thanking God for the ones he put in our path that day. That altar call just absolutely made my day worth living. And as for the bands they were awesome. I am amazed with the lead singer of Storyside B he just looks so cool. I’m mad I didn’t get a picture with him. I had fun hanging out with everyone and seeing a lot of people from my school. I’M SO HAPPY THAT I WENT!!!! I wish everyone could of went and seen how God worked that day. God so owned that festival!!!!(lol)

  4. Vertical Fest was indescribable. my highlight of the night was when i saw people running to God during the invitation. God’s name was written all over it. i got to pray with this one guy who had suicidal thoughts in his mind. i was so nervous and i didn’t really want to do the counseling; i wanted to have fun and hang out with all my friends. but i’m glad God showed me that being available was more important than having than having fun. it was amazing! God gave me all the words to say when i didn’t know what to say. HE IS AWESOME! As jenna said, God so owned that festival!

  5. hey…the power of God is amazing! He helps me through my struggles and everything. He’s amazing. okay well that’s pretty much it for now…i’m in school…i’ll write more later! cya

  6. Great music. Our worship band wants to play Oceans from the Rain. I cannot find any copywrite material for it. I am old (53) and am so thankful that you are bringing out high quality music like this to inspire my youth to look to their creator. Thanks

  7. Brenda- Oceans from the Rain is a song from Seventh Day Slumber. I am sure you can find more information on their site about copy right info. I just pulled that video from YOUTUBE.
